Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Alexander Marwata Admits Sad To Be Inspired By Corruption Officials To Prepare For Retirement
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata admitted that he was sad because he heard that most of his colleagues were corrupt in preparation for retirement. This condition makes him hope that the fate of state officials after their term ends can be considered more.
"I once spoke with one of the leaders of a state institution, 'Mr. Alex, actually our official is corrupt to prepare for retirement', it's sad for us. Preparation. He said that, "said Alexander in a discussion entitled Corruption Eradication: Reflection and Hope' which was held at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.
Alexander did not specify who was the head of the state institution he spoke to in the story. However, he said this official had concerns about his fate after retiring.
"He told me how will it be after retiring if they are sick, they are not covered by insurance like when they took office," he said.
This was later agreed by Alexander who said he could queue at the puskesmas if he had completed his tenure at the KPK. So, he hopes that there will be more attention, especially those related to health.
"I hope that I don't use insurance (from the institution, ed) because no one wants to get sick but when I get sick the facilities are VVIP. But when I finish from the KPK, maybe I will queue at the puskesmas," he said.
"That's a state award for our officials, right. Nothing. After retiring, it's already BPJS, so that's actually one of our proposals, please think about it after the person concerned does not take office because it has a huge impact on the behavior of the officials," continued the leader with the judge's background.

Not only that, Alexander also admitted that he had asked the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) several times to pay attention to the income of law enforcement officials to maintain integrity. Because, there is a gap between the KPK and other institutions.
"Far are the prosecutor's friends who are at the KPK and those in the original agency. Here they can maintain integrity but when they return to another institution from another origin, the story. The free fall of income is as well as friends from the police," he said.
"It certainly has an impact on how they behave in carrying out their daily work. Actually the Constitution, in the end the money too," concluded Alexander.
