The Activity Of Mount Semeru Is Still Dominated By The Eruption Earthquake After The Eruption
The activity of Mount Semeru which has a height of 3,676 meters above sea level (masl) is still dominated by earthquake eruptions on Friday morning after the eruption of hot clouds.
Officers of the Mount Semeru Observation Post, Yadi Yuliandi, conveyed that earthquake observations on Friday at 00.00-06.00 WIB were recorded as many as 17 eruptions/eruption earthquakes with an amplitude of 10-22 mm and a long earthquake of 70-155 seconds.
"In addition, six distant tectonic earthquakes were also recorded with an amplitude of 17-27 mm, S-P 16-35 seconds and an earthquake duration of 77-187 seconds," he said.
For visual observations, Mount Semeru is clearly visible until it is covered in fog 0-II. The crater smoke was not observed. The weather is sunny to cloudy, the wind is weak to the south and west.

Based on the results of the analysis and evaluation of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources released on Thursday (28/3), the activity level of Mount Semeru remains at level III (Alert) with recommendations that are adjusted to the potential for the latest hazards.
The recommendation is that people are not allowed to carry out any activities in the southeast sector along Besuk Kobokan, as far as 13 km from the summit (the center of the eruption).
Beyond this distance, the community does not carry out activities at a distance of 500 meters from the riverbank (river border) along Besuk Kobokan, because it has the potential to be affected by the expansion of hot clouds and lava flows up to a distance of 17 km from the summit.
