Manchester United Interested, But Joselu Wants To Be A Reserve Player At Real Madrid
JAKARTA - Manchester United will make a surprise transfer when they target Real Madrid striker Joselu Mota. However, this veteran striker seems to feel at home in Madrid even though he only has a loan status and will often sit on the bench next season.
Joselu was loaned by Madrid from Espanyol last season. Espanyol, who was caste and competed in the second caste of La Liga Spain, did not mind loaning a 34-year-old striker. Moreover, the club can save Joselu's salary expenses whose contract will only expire in 2025.
Madrid also only need to pay 500 thousand euros to Espanyol for the player's loan.
Be Joselu with Brahim Diz who returns to Madrid after being loaned to AC Milan on the bench.
The reason is, Los Merengues already has a trident of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham. But Joselu is really hard even though he only sits on the bench for being their cover.
However, coach Carlo Ancelotti was impressed with Joselu's professional attitude as a player. His sharpness was quite satisfactory. Evidently, Joselu was able to score 14 goals during 38 matches with Madrid.
Joselu's performance, which was quite impressive even though it was only a reserve player, made MU interested in signing him.
According to The Sun, the club's representatives have flown to Spain to negotiate with Joselu. MU hopes that this Spanish national team striker can join the next musi competition.
Joselu is considered quite appropriate to accompany Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. The player who has been poor in Germany's Bundesliga has a good physique with reliable goalscoring skills. Even with his goal score, Joselu is a clinical striker.
In addition, Josele is already quite familiar with the Premier League because he has played in Stoke City and Newcastle United. Only he did not shine so he returned to Spain.
Joselu was a bit late for the Spanish national team. Even though he had played at the junior level, he had just been called back by the senior team to qualify for Euro 2024 on March 17, 2023.
Now, he has even scored five goals from 10 international matches. Joselu also helped Spain win the Nations League 2023.
However, the MU recruitment plan seems to be encountering obstacles. Madrid may take advantage of the option to make Joselu permanent because the club is enough to pay for the transfer of 1.5 million euros.
In addition, Joselu hopes to continue playing in Madrid until the next season. He did not mind remaining on the bench. Moreover, the opportunity to play Joselu is getting smaller.
The reason is, Madrid have recruited Brazilian young star Endrick Felipe. The 17-year-old has already caught the eye when he was played in Brazil's test matches against England and Spain. Endrick always scored goals in those two matches.

If officially joins, Mbappe's presence makes Madrid's front line even more crowded. The club may also release players in that position.
MU itself monitors the Joselu situation. Whether to be released by Espanyol and Madrid has canceled to make him permanent or in the end, he will remain in Madrid.
