Rainfall Still High, 500 BPBD Volunteers Supervise Disaster-Prone Homecoming Routes In Cianjur
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cianjur Regency deployed 500 disaster-resilient volunteers in each sub-district to oversee the disaster-prone homecoming route along with high rainfall.
Head of BPBD Cianjur Asep Sukma Wijaya said information from the BMKG on rainfall accompanied by strong winds and lightning will hit most of the Cianjur area until April 2024, so that residents' vigilance, especially in disaster-prone areas, must be increased.
"Since the last few days, heavy rains have hit Cianjur at night, causing a number of natural disasters and small landslides to close the road runway, especially in the southern region, so it needs to be watched out for," he said in Cianjur, Thursday, March 28, which was confiscated by Antara.
To anticipate things that are not desirable, his party asked hundreds of volunteers whose areas are included in the homecoming route such as the north and south regions from Cipanas District to Naringgul border with Bandung Regency to carry out monitoring.

They are required to make a report when they see natural signs of a disaster, so that they can anticipate by coordinating with related agencies in the Cianjur Regency Government, West Java Provincial Government and the Ministry of PUPR.
"We will immediately follow up on every report that comes in and an anticipatory measure must be taken immediately so that natural disasters do not cut off the path that will be passed by travelers, which is expected to begin to be seen next week," he said.
His party noted a number of homecoming routes that are prone to landslides ranging from the Puncak-Cipanas area, Cibeber-Sukanagara, Pagelaran-Cibinong, and Cidaun-Nariggul friends, where the route has the status of provincial roads and state roads.
"We ask residents, especially road users and travelers, to remain careful and vigilant when crossing disaster-prone lanes, it is better to stop in a safe place when it rains more than two hours," he said.
