Checking Easter Celebration At Jakarta Cathedral, Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs: Security Is Going Well
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto directly checked the security of the tri holy Easter day worship series at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Thursday, March 28.
"We have coordinated to secure a series of Easter activities and we have checked in the field all security is going well," said Hadi during a press conference in the courtyard of the Cathedral, Jakarta, Thursday, March 28.
He also hopes that the situation will remain conducive during the Easter service series.
"We hope that worship can be carried out in conducive conditions filled with a sense of security, peace, and coolness which will be held from Thursday to Sunday," said Hadi.
At the same location, the Archbishop of Jakarta Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo Hardjoatmodjo thanked the government for the attention of the government and the readiness of the Police to help the series of worship runs safely and smoothly.
"Mr. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, on behalf of Catholics, especially those in Jakarta, I would like to thank you for the presence of Mr. representing the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to be present in the midst of us celebrating Easter starting with Holy Thursday," said Cardinal Suharyo.

He also asked the congregation to make the series of Easter celebrations an opportunity to improve themselves, both in personal life and in the life of the nation and society.
"Once again, Mr. Coordinating Minister, thank you, (who came) with a group whose presence really made us feel at peace and to the gentlemen (police) outside who took care of us, heated up and hopefully it won't rain, thank you for the presence of all of you," said Cardinal Suharyo.
At the Jakarta Cathedral Church, there were 162 joint TNI/Polri personnel guarding the tri holy day series of Easter. A number of police have also sterilized areas assisted by K9 dogs and a team from the Gegana Brimob Police Force to ensure that no dangerous items enter the church environment.
