The Indonesian Men's 3X3 National Team Stopped In The FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup 2024 Qualification
JAKARTA The journey of the Indonesian Men's 3X3 Basketball National Team at the FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup 2024 which took place in Singapore this week had to stop in the qualifying round.
The team made by coach Fandi Andika Ramadhani actually closed the Group B stage with a 16-10 victory against the North Mariana Islands at OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub, Thursday, March 28, 2024, afternoon WIB.
"With this result, our chances are closed to the FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup 2024. Initially, we hoped the children won 21 points then Sri Lanka lost to South Korea. In fact, Sri Lanka was also able to beat South Korea," said Fandi in a statement.
The Indonesian Men's 3X3 national team recorded two wins from three Group B matches. Previously, the team, which was filled by young players, succeeded in stopping the South Korean strong team with a score of 13-11.

Meanwhile, the only defeat that Indonesia felt occurred against Sri Lanka, which ended with a final score of 14-21. The two wins put Indonesia in second place in the group's final standings.
Fandi said that he was very optimistic about the future of this team even though they failed to enter the finals. The reason is, this young team only found out how to feel the debut of competition at the Asian level.
"If there is a championship like this going forward, they must be ready. Maybe with the addition of two more players, we will not bother looking for 3X3 players in the future," he said.
In this year's championship, the Indonesian Men's 3X3 national team comes with capital for young players. They are a team that has just been formed and sent to feel the competition at a higher level.
The players who were called were Serigne Modou Kane (18 years), Erick Ibrahim Junior (20 years), Muhammad Daffa Shaldy (19 years), and Jason Christhoufer Kurniawan (25 years) who were the most senior in the team.
Fandi hopes that this team will be formed for the future. Therefore, it needs to be prepared for a longer time. In addition, they need to be included in the Asian level championships.
"We take lessons there because the level of contact is different from ours, as well as the way the game is different," said Fandi.
