PIS Prepares 326 Ships To Maintain Smooth Supply Of Fuel And LPG During Eid Al-Fitr

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has formed a task force and alerted as many as 326 ships to ensure the smooth availability of national energy.

PIS Muh Corporate Secretary. Aryomekka Firdaus said PIS is ready to oversee and maintain the smooth distribution of fuel oil and LPG throughout Ramadan until post-Idulfitri 1445 H.

"PIS is committed to maintaining the security of fuel supply with sustainable operations, all officers are ready to carry out their duties throughout Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr. PIS also ensures that it still prioritizes the security and safety of the officers who serve as the task force," Aryomekka told the media, Wednesday, March 27.

Overall, he continued, PIS prepared 318 ships plus 8 reserve ships. Of the 318 ships, 283 fleets were deployed to ensure the smooth distribution of domestic energy and 35 tanker fleets to transport supplies from abroad.

For the domestic tanker fleet, 179 tankers were recorded to be prepared to transport fuel products, 39 LPG tankers, 26 crude or crude tankers, and the rest for the transportation needs of avtur, naphta, asphalt, petrochemicals, and other products.

"The PIS tanker is alerted with a commitment on demand, on speech, on time, which is in accordance with the distribution of fuel and LPG needs, in accordance with the technical specifications needed, and is operated according to the set schedule to ensure timeliness in transportation," added Aryomekka.

He continued, PIS also ensures that it monitors the distribution of fuel and LPG regularly, starting from monitoring all depots in terms of stock conditions, DOT, coverage days as well as ship positions and conditions, and coordinating with all relevant parties to mitigate and anticipate a surge in demand at a terminal.

In terms of ship readiness, monitoring is carried out digitally with PIS applications and technology to detect developments in the situation, anticipating emergency conditions and other risks.

Routine monitoring of the distribution of fuel and LPG is also carried out by companies by optimizing technology, including EDTP 3.0 applications, VCOMS, IPMAN, and also weather monitoring from BMKG. The use of system monitoring digitization is also prepared to detect emergency situations, fraud detection, and weather forecasts.

Technology to monitor the movement of ships and stocks is also integrated with the Integrated Enterprise Data & Command Center (IEDCC), which is a center of information on energy distribution ranging from Upstream, Refinery, Shipships, Fuel Terminal to gas stations owned by PT Pertamina (Persero).

Not only the readiness of the ship, Aryomekka also said that PIS, which now manages 6 strategic terminals, also ensures smooth supply in ports, bunkers, and depots. For the bunker, PIS maintains timeliness by minimizing the waiting period due to bunkering and at the same time ensuring the quality of the ship's bunker.

"We are monitoring the ship's position more intensely, and for ships that will supply fuel terminals with minimal coverage days, we ask Crew to be able to operate the ship in a best safe speed condition, as well as coordination with all relevant parties to mitigate and anticipate a spike in demand at a depot if necessary," concluded Aryomekka.
