4 Perpetrators Of ABG Beating In Trenggralek Arrested, Motive For Revenge

The Buru Sergap Team of the Trenggalek Police arrested four teenagers who beat a 16-year-old ABG (a new child) with the initials DA, suspected of being the victim of a wrong target, on public roads around Prigi Beach, Trenggalek, East Java.

"We arrested four perpetrators of the beating while trying to run to hide towards Tuban," said Trenggalek Police Chief, AKBP Gathut Bowo Supriyono in Trenggalek, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

The four teenagers who were arrested by the police were WF (19), FN (18), MR (23) and DB (24) residents of Margomulyo Village, Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency.

They were arrested and are now being detained by the police based on complaints from the victim/the victim's parents.

"They carried out the persecution together, someone hit the victim, some kicked and stepped on," said Trenggalek Police Chief, AKBP Gathut Bowo Supriyono.

The beating was allegedly motivated by the motive for revenge.

This is implied in the preparation of the four perpetrators who deliberately intercepted the victim DA and his friend who were riding a motorbike on a public road in the Prigi Beach area.

When the two passed by suddenly they were stopped by the four teenagers.

The four teenagers interrogated the victim regarding the throwing incident at the previous le Bambu coffee shop.

"Because they did not get the answer they wanted, the perpetrators were angry and committed violence against the victim," he added.

Because their action was almost caught by the tarawih congregation at the mosque not far from the location, continued Gathut, the four teenagers took the victim to the field, not far from the first location. Then the violence was carried out again. After carrying out the persecution, they just left the victim.

"As a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to the head, stomach and back with bruises," he said.

After committing the persecution, the four teenagers fled to Tuban. They intended to avoid being chased by officers after the victim's family made a police report.

However, their escape did not last long. Despite moving from place to place, the traces of the four teenagers were caught by joint officers from the Watulimo Police and the Trenggalek Police Satreskrim.

They ran away until we finally managed to secure them," he said.

To account for their actions, they will be charged with Article 76 C in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments on behalf of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, which carries a maximum imprisonment of 3 years and 6 months and/or a maximum fine of Rp72 million.
