Handling 155 Cases, Police Confiscate 17 Kg Of Drug Cases In Deli Serdang

DELI SERDANG - Police officers confiscated 17 kilograms of methamphetamine and marijuana (kg) in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Tuesday, March 26. Disclosure of this narcotics case from hundreds of suspects that occurred from December 2023 to March 2024 with a number of reports of 115 cases.

"The number of suspects is 167 people, the evidence confiscated, 9,076 kg of methamphetamine and dried marijuana weighing 8,457 kg," said Deli Serdang Police Chief Kombes Pol Raphael Sandy Priambodo, Wednesday, March 27.

Raphael explained that there were 65 suspects who had been transferred to the prosecutor's office. Meanwhile, the investigations and filings that entered stage P-21 or were complete were 64 people.

Raphael said of the 115 police reports, there were five prominent cases that were successfully uncovered, including at Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang Regency, with 7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine as evidence. "We also confiscated 254 ecstasy pills from the disclosure," he said.

All evidence was then destroyed after being tested by the North Sumatra Police Labfor team. "Shabu-shabu was destroyed by boiling, while dried marijuana was burned," explained Raphael.

By confiscating and destroying narcotics, the Deli Serdang Police have managed to save 68,000 lives.
