PSI Asks DKI Provincial Government To Evaluate Flood Control Project Contractors
JAKARTA - Member of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Justin Adrian Untayana asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to evaluate the performance of contractors implementing flood control projects in Jakarta.
This is because floods often inundate Jakarta during the rainy season earlier this year. For example, Jakarta was flooded during voting day for the 2024 General Election. A few days ago, a number of areas in Jakarta were flooded for more than 24 hours.
"I think all SDA contractors (water Resources Office) must be evaluated because so far there have been a lot of natural resources projects that have ended badly, from infiltration wells to sheet piles," Justin told reporters, Tuesday, March 26.
Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and his staff, according to Justin, must be able to solve the flood problem on a priority scale.
Given that the jumbo budget is always allocated for flood management every year. In the 2023 budget year APBD, the flood management budget is allocated IDR 2.7 trillion. Then, the budget allocation for flood management in the 2024 APBD is IDR 2.8 trillion.

"You have to focus on solving problems on a priority scale. Floods are a priority. Pak Heru must be more sat-set," said Justin.
Continuing, the chairman of the PSI Jakarta faction, William Aditya Sarana also asked the provincial government to always alert water pumps throughout the DKI Jakarta area, at least until the tropical cyclone that is currently happening.
"Water pumps must also be in prime condition and ready to turn on even when the rain just rains. Don't turn it on when it's flooded, it's too late," added William.
