DKI Provincial Government Builds 8 Reservoirs This Year

JAKARTA - Plt. Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial SDA Office, Ika Agustin Ningrum, said that his party would build 8 reservoirs or reservoirs in 2024 as one of the flood impact control programs.

The flood management program has been prepared through a roadmap action plan which will form the basis for the preparation of the 2025-2045 Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD). In detail, 6 further reservoir/embung construction sites, namely Marunda Reservoir, Hamlet Dukuh 2, Munjul Reservoir, Cilangkap Reservoir, Revitalization of Embung Kaja, and Settlement of Embung Pekayon. Meanwhile, the reservoir/embung that was just built this year is Embung SDN 01 Petukangan Selatan and Embung Jl. Pemuda Srengseng Sawah.

In addition to reservoirs or reservoirs, the construction of other flood control infrastructure carried out this year, namely the strengthening of river embankments, the construction of a polder/pump system, as well as the increase in the drainage capacity of the area. In 2024, there are 5 polder/pumps being built and 2 stationary pump locations being revitalized. Then there are 8 reservoirs/mbungs built with details of 6 reservoirs/mbungs representing continued construction and 2 new reservoirs/waves," said Ika in his statement, Tuesday, March 26. Meanwhile, the 5 polder/pumps are Polder/Pomping Sunter C, Polder/Pamp Motor Style, Polder/Pamp Kali Sepatan (KBN), Polder/Pompa IKPN, and Polder/Pompa RW 13 (Greenville).

Then, the revitalization was carried out at 2 pump locations, namely the Stationary Pump Jl. Tanjung Duren Raya-Jl. Lt. Gen. S. Parman, West Jakarta, and the Statinary Pump of BMW Park, North Jakarta.

In handling continuously, Ika said the SDA Service carried out dredging at times, reservoirs, and waterways to lift mud sediment, so that the channel capacity remained optimal in accommodating water. This was done to minimize inundation during the rainy season. In addition, the SDA Service also installed sheet piles on the riverside/river side. Installation of embankments aims to tackle landslides around rivers/streams. Sheet piles that have been built such as in Kali Pesanggrahan, West Jakarta and Kali Sunter segment Pulomas Pump, North Jakarta. To overcome tidal flooding due to tidal flooding in the northern coastal area of Jakarta, the DKI Provincial Government continues to build embankments in the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) Phase A program. NCID Phase A development is carried out in the Muara Angke Area, Mutiara Beach, Sunda Kelapa-West Kelapa-Ancol, and Blencong River (Cililincing-Marunda area). In addition, there are also 580 stationary pump units spread over the mouth of the river, as well as monitoring and early warning tidal flood systems. "Optimization of the operational facilities and infrastructure of flood control is also continuously carried out, such as regular management and checking of pump houses, heavy equipment, as well as maintenance/treatment so that they can work optimally during pre- and during flood management conditions," explained Ika. Based on facilities and infrastructure data as of March 15, 2024, there are 580 stationary pump units spread across 202 locations and 557 units of mobile pumps spread across five Jakarta administrative areas. Mobile pumps are used to reach flood/field locations that cannot be reached by stationary pumps.

Then, there are 845 floodgate units in 589 locations, 254 units of heavy equipment, 460 units of dump trucks, and 4,226 personnel of blue troops.
