The company noted that an area of 238.64 hectares of post-mining land in the Tuban Factory GIS has been reclamationd with the planting of 503,466 trees. There are more than 10 types of trees that have been planted in that location, including teak trees, klompis, Trambesi, johar, flamboyan, eucalyptus, mahooni, sengon buto, oranges, nyemplung, banyan, to palmo kecik. "The selection of types of trees planted on the post-mining land of the Tuban Factory's GIS is also carried out based on its benefits, such as trambesi trees, mahonies, banyans, and teaks that have the ability to absorb good greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions," said SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni in a written statement, quoted Tuesday, March 26. Vita said that post-mining land revegement is GIS's effort to restore land function and increase its benefits in a sustainable manner. In addition, these efforts are also aimed at protecting biodiversity in the area around the Tuban Factory. According to the company, the Tuban Factory GIS also has a Bukit Daun array on the post-mining land that stores a collection of rare plants. Some of these plants include damar (agathis dammara), ulin (eusyderoxylon zwageri), gaharu (aquilian malaccensis), kurma (phoenix). dactylifaera), and kawista (limonia acidissima). This area which is a means of educational tourism and research facilities is also a habitat for avifauna diversity such as rice standoffs, measurable, cucak kutilang,cipoh glass, and takur ungkut-ungkut.
