NasDem Affirms No Offer From The Minister From Prabowo

Chairman of the West Java NasDem DPW Saan Mustopa confirmed that there was no discussion regarding the offer of ministerial positions from the elected president Prabowo Subianto when he met the General Chairperson of Surya Paloh at the NasDem Tower last weekend.

"As far as I know, we have not discussed it internally in that direction. So even if for example there was a meeting between Pak Surya and Pak Prabowo last Friday, it was more of Pak Prabowo's form of appreciation for his congratulations to Pak Prabowo and Pak Gibran," said Saan at the DPR building, Jakarta, Monday, March 25.

Saan said that the friendship between Surya Paloh and Prabowo had existed for almost 50 years. However, according to him, there has been no follow-up to the meeting of the two party leaders.

"Internal, for example, whether to join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition or still in the opposition so far is still a study material, the material for meetings within the NasDem party," he explained.

The deputy chairman of Commission II of the DPR said that the opportunity to join the Prabowo-Gibran coalition was still 50:50. NasDem, he said, is still considering the party's political stance in the future whether to take a place inside or outside the government.

"So once again we have never decided whether or not there is a decision whether, for example, join or not. We also don't know, for example, we haven't heard about it when Pak Prabowo and KIM set up ministerial posts for NasDem, we haven't," said Saan.

Saan then emphasized that until now there has been no offer of ministerial seat from Prabowo for the NasDem Party.

"No, nothing. Yesterday there was no talk there," he concluded.
