Develop The Ecosystem, Kemenkop UKM Proposes That Product Agregators Get KUR

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) encourages companies that collect and bring MSME products abroad, aka aggregators, to also get subsidized financing or People's Business Credit (KUR).

Deputy for SMEs at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs, Hanung Harimba Rachman, assessed that this was necessary to develop the Indonesian MSME ecosystem.

"We also want to encourage other financing that we want to develop so that the funded ones are not only SMEs, but the aggregators. Yes, those who collect (SMEs) because, right, if they are not financed are a bit difficult too," said Hanung when met at the Smesco Building, Jakarta, Monday, March 25.

According to Hanung, the KUR scheme has not accommodated aggregators. Therefore, he said, his party is now proposing that aggregators can also be included in the KUR financing scheme.

He added that the proposal is currently being discussed internally by the government. The Kemenkop UKM itself has submitted a KUR scheme for aggregators to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and is expected to be completed this year.

"Ini lagi mau dibicarakan ke sana (Kemenko Perekonomian). Kalau bisa tahun ini lebih bagus sebelum perubahan pemerintahan. Jadi, modelnya sudah ada," imbuhnya.

Meanwhile, throughout 2023, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs has distributed KUR financing of IDR 260.26 trillion for 4.64 million debtors.

This was revealed by Coordinating Minister for SMEs Teten Masduki during a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

"The expansion of access to financing through the KUR scheme in 2023 is IDR 260.26 trillion, which is distributed to 4.64 million debtors," he said.
