5 Years Of Operation, MRT Jakarta Serves 102 Million Passengers
JAKARTA - MRT Jakarta has been operating for 5 years since March 24, 2019. Director of Operations and Maintenance of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Mega Tarigan said, as of March 13, 2024, MRT Jakarta had served 102,067,777 customers.
Mega said, the average service user per day continues to increase from year to year. In the first year, MRT passengers were recorded at 86 thousand people per day until 2023 reaching 91 thousand people per day. During Monday's working day Friday, the average daily has reached 119 thousand people per day.
"Angka yang menunjukkan bahwa MRT Jakarta telah digunakan sebagai salah satu moda transportasi pilihan ke tempat kerja," kata Mega dalam keterangannya, Senin, 25 Maret.
Mega said, MRT Jakarta is implementing a pull program strategy to increase the level of clarity. This program includes services inside stations and outside stations, such as feeder services (feeders) to the nearest Jakarta MRT station which makes it easier for first and last mile passengers, lifestyles and loyal customers (poins), events around stations, to promos for ticket payments.
In addition, the Jakarta 2023 MRT customer satisfaction index figure has reached 88.51. This index is measured by the overall experience of customer travel in the MRT Jakarta ecosystem, from pre-journey, on board, to post journey.
"Consistently, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) continues to improve service excellence, on time performance, and implement various pull ridership programs to create sustainable competitive advantages and provide added-valued services for customers," Mega said.

Now, MRT Jakarta is carrying out the construction of Phase 2A and 2B. Phase 2A MRT Jakarta will connect the HI Roundabout Station to Kota along about 5.8 kilometers and consist of seven underground stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota.
Phase 2A is divided into two segments, namely segment one of the HI Roundabout Harmoni which is targeted for completion in 2027, and the two Harmoni's segment of the City which is targeted for completion in 2029.
The Jakarta MRT 2A phase was built at a cost of around Rp. 25.3 trillion through a cooperation loan fund between the Government of Indonesia and Japan.
Meanwhile, Phase 2B MRT Jakarta, which plans to continue from Kota to Depo Ancol Barat, is still in the feasibility study stage.
