Israeli Parliament: War Ends If Jews Remain in North Gaza

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Israeli Parliament Knesset Zvika Fogel said Israeli aggression in the Palestinian Gaza Strip would end if Jews settled in the northern part of the territory, Sunday, March 24.

"Israel must stop the war when Jews settle throughout the northern region of the Gaza Strip," Fogel told Israeli public broadcaster KAN, Monday, March 25, reported by Antara.

He also called for “voluntary migration” of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

“Anyone who wants to migrate voluntarily will get a grant from me,” he said.

Amid international outrage, some Israeli officials have proposed encouraging "voluntary migration" of residents of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian enclave that Israel has been heavily shelling since October last year following attacks by the Hamas resistance group that killed nearly 1,200 people.

More than 32,000 Palestinians have been killed and 74,500 others injured amid mass destruction and shortages of basic goods in Gaza.

Israel has also imposed a blockade so that Palestinians in the region, especially in the north, are threatened with starvation.

Israel's war has displaced 85 percent of Gaza's population amid shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60 percent of the territory's infrastructure was damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
