Excited Hybrid Car Market, Chery Indonesia Will Consider

JAKARTA - The Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) market is increasingly promising in Indonesia, as evidenced by reports of sales of various manufacturers in the country that continue to increase.

Reflecting on wholesale data as of February 2024, based on a report by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid is the best-selling with the delivery of 1,169 units, followed by other models from the Suzuki Hybrid as many as 718 units and Ertiga Hybrid 459 units.

Seeing the market share that continues to receive warm welcome, Chery also began to look at the market (HEV). This was revealed by the Head of Brand Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Rifkie Setiawan.

"Certainly, because all brands are now starting to look at the hybrid market, it can be seen that the market for new energy for 60 percent cars is still hybrid dominance, so yes, it's also attractive to hybrid," he said, when met in the Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 area, Friday, March 22.

Taking the market will also be a consideration, because Chery also has several environmentally friendly vehicle models ranging from hybrid to PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).

As is known, the hybrid model of Chery has been present in neighboring the Philippines, where there are the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid models, and the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid to the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV.

"When we talk about this year's plan, we will present PHEV first, but to be sure when we haven't got an approval from the headquarter, it's possible to step back to next year because we can see which opportunities can come in first," he added.

So it is worth waiting for the environmentally friendly vehicle model from Chery, especially from the hybrid and PHEV variants.
