1958 Chief Detective Series Synopsis Starring Lee Jehoon

JAKARTA - The Korean Chief Detective 1958 retro crime drama series will air starting April 19 on Disney+ Hotstar. The series, starring Lee Jehoon and Lee Donghwi, was set ten years before the story in the Korean drama Chief Inspector which was popular in the 1970s and 1980s.

1958's Chief Detective was created based on the original series story by presenting a new storyline and featuring Detective characters Park Yeonghan and Kim Sangsun in Seoul before the existence of K-Pop, smartphone, and streaming.

The 1958 Chief Detective series follows the story of Park Yeonghan, a pessimistic detective who is considered a rebel after repeatedly opposing the country's military government.

Stuck in a sad task of expelling the homeless on the streets of the capital, Yeonghan and his team suddenly bounced back as they tried to catch a dangerous killer.

Quoted from ANTARA, Friday, March 22, Lee Jehoon plays Park Yeonghan, a murder detective who feels disappointed and has a strong role and Lee Donghwi plays Detective Kim Sangsun, a person with the nickname 'crazy dog' who is temperamental of the assassination team.

Previously, Lee Jehoon had starred in Taxi Driver and Signal while Lee Donghwi was known as a cast in Big Bet and Reply 1988. The series was directed by Kim Sunghoon who previously worked on the film Confidential Assignment and Rampant.
