DKI Provincial Government Pursues NCICD Embankment Settlement In Jakut Completed 2025

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono opened the 2024 Development Planning Musyarawah (Musrenbang). This musrenbang was carried out to prepare a regional government work plan (RKPD) for 2025.

In the work plan in North Jakarta in 2025, the DKI Provincial Government is intensifying the completion of the construction of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD).

The NCICD project is divided into three phases, namely phases A, B, and C. Phase A includes the construction of coastal embankments, while phases B and C include the construction of a sea embankment or what is known as Giant Sea Wall.

The Jakarta area has a flood challenge that must be resolved immediately. Floods caused by tidal waves and high-intensity rain. It is not easy to deal with this flood. Therefore, in Jakarta there must be an NCICD, a coastal safety embankment must be built," said Heru at the North Jakarta Mayor's Office, Thursday, March 21.

Heru realized that the DKI Provincial Government must intensify the construction of embankments as controlling the impact of Jakarta's floods. Considering that land subsidence in the North Jakarta area is one of the causes of flooding.

The head of the Presidential Secretariat said that the land subsidence in North Jakarta reached between 70 centimeters and one meter. Thus, it is impossible for flood management to be carried out other than the construction of embankments.

"The cost is quite large, but if we are jointly committed to the Central Government, then it can be built. Because, not only for the North Jakarta area, but nationally, from Jakarta to Semarang there must be a sea embankment," said Heru.

In addition to the construction of embankments, in 2025, Heru instructed the development of historical tourism areas oriented to the history of Jakarta's birth.

"So, in 2025, one of the icons in DKI Jakarta Province is North Jakarta as a tourist area in the history of Jakarta's birth," he said.

North Jakarta Administrative Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim added that there are four priority issues that will be carried out in the North Jakarta area.

First, the construction of the NCICD coastal safety embankment which was carried out to overcome tidal flooding on the north coast of Jakarta. Second, the construction of the Cakung Lama-Pegangsaan Dua River sheet pile to deal with flooding in Kelapa Gading and Cilincing.

The third priority is to repair roads along the Marunda access road to support economic activity. Then, the fourth priority is to build an expansion of the sub-district health center to accommodate puskesmas services," he continued.
