Aismoli Chair Optimistic That Electric Motor Sales Will Increase During Ramadan 2024
JAKARTA - The Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) views that the momentum of Ramadan and Eid 2024 is able to boost sales of electric motorcycles.
"I am optimistic, really, (the sale of electric motorbikes) has increased, yes. Because industrially it is also increasing," said Aismoli Chairman Budi Setiyadi in response to VOI questions in Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, March 20.
Budi said that currently the sector industry players also view that the government has intensified the use of electric motors through various regulations that have been issued.
"This means, right, maybe industry players have seen that the government's encouragement will definitely increase sales itself, (in particular before Eid)," he said.
He hopes that this year's momentum of Ramadan and Eid can have a positive impact on the sale of electric motorcycles in Indonesia. Given, the government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has provided incentives for buying electric motorbikes to the public.
"In 2023, right, we (the target) is around 80,000 units, yes, from 2019. Hopefully now we can reach around 50,000. From the Ministry of Industry it is subsidized, right, the initial target is 50,000. However, if possible, we will add more to the previous figure, right, the target is 600,000," said Budi.

"Hopefully, yes, industrial capabilities are ready. But, now we really hope that the community itself will absorb this potential," he added.
Quoting information from the official website of the Information System for the Purchase of Two-wheeled Electric Vehicles (SISAPIRa) as of March 20, 2024, only 11,532 subsidized electric motors were distributed from the target of 200,000 units in 2023.
Meanwhile, for 2024 itself, as many as 9,378 are still in the registration process, 1,497 are verified and 8,396 subsidized electric motors are distributed.
