Bernard Van Aert's Great Opportunity To Qualify For The 2024 Paris Olympics

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Bicycle Racing Team has a great opportunity to pass athletes to the 2024 Paris Olympics. One of them is through Bernard van Aert, who performed well in the Omnium UCI Track Nations Cup 2024 Hong Kong.

Bernard's appearance at the Hong Kong Nations Cup was also accompanied by the chairman of the Paris 2024 Olympic Task Force Team, Raja Sapta Oktohari.

"Besides my position as Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, I was also given the mandate to become the Chair of the 2024 Paris Olympics Task Force whose job is to oversee and ensure that the athlete's qualifying process can be maximized," said Okto, Raja Sapta Oktohari's nickname.

According to Okto, the UCI Track Nations Cup Hong Kong and Canada will be decisive and provide a considerable opportunity for Indonesian cyclists to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"We see the holist aspect from all over preparations for the preparation of athletes for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is only from one sport that has potential, there are many other sports that have potential and are trying to get tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Bicycle Racing Team, Dadang Haries Poernomo, is grateful for the results achieved by Bernard in Hong Kong. According to him, the 26-year-old singer who was born in Singkawang has released her best performance.

"For Bernard, his performance today is the best as long as he has a career on his bicycle. Indeed, the speed is extraordinary. In the Nations Cup, all Olympic participants are present. Automatically the speed goes up, the quality of the race goes up. Bernard is full from start to finish, his performance goes up," said Dadang.

Based on the results of the coaching team's calculations, Bernard, who finished in 17th place with the Omnium UCI Track Nations Cup Hong Kong, will get an additional 192 points.

The additional points are believed to be able to make Bernard's Road to Paris 2024 rating move up to 17th out of a total of 22 drivers who will qualify.

The final series as well as determining the track-number bicycle racing athlete who will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held at the UCI Track Nations Cup Canada on 12-14 April 2024.

"So, there are 22 athletes who will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Bernard still has a big chance because there are still four riders below him who must remain anticipated."

"There are three series of Nation Cup this year and all points will be totaled. So, it must still be anticipated," concluded Dadang.
