West Sumatra Governor: All Regional Regulations Must Be Based On Pancasila
West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi emphasized that regional regulations (Perda) must be based on the values contained in each Pancasila point.
"Rules in regions such as the Regional Regulations in addition to referring to higher laws and regulations must also be based on Pancasila values," he said in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.
This was conveyed by the governor when opening the Pancasila Value Internalization and Institutionalization Meeting in the Preparation of the Regional Regulation Draft in West Sumatra.
Mahyeldi said Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and DPRD members are important to continue to deepen their knowledge of the values of Pancasila so that in each Perda the resulting value cannot be separated.
"The regional regulation is not only made by the executive but can also be based on the initiation of the DPRD. Therefore, both of them must understand the value of Pancasila," he said.
Mahyeldi said Pancasila as the basis of the state, the ideology of the state, and the views of the nation's life excavated by the nation's founders, is an incomparable gift from God Almighty for the Indonesian nation.

"Pancasila as a belief and a human establishment must continue to be fought for. If we interpret Pancasila as a philosophy, then he is the basis for regulating state governance and state administration," he said.
Pancasila values are universal, so they must be internalized in the life of the nation and state, including legal development. Because the law has a function of maintaining order and security, means of development, upholding justice and education for the community.
Meanwhile, the Director of Analysis and Reasoning of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Abbas said that BPIP consistently and sustainably continues to contribute to national development, so that in every legislation, Pancasila values are embedded.
