Homecoming Using Electric Cars, PLN: Safe, SPKLU Operates 24 Hours During Lebaran Homecoming

JAKARTA - The 2024 Eid homecoming is not only enlivened by conventional cars, but is also enlivened by the presence of electric cars as one of the travel options to their hometowns.

As is known, currently many leading brands market electric vehicles in Indonesia, such as BMW, Wuling, Hyundai, Toyota, MG Motor, Neta, to the latest BYD.

For those planning homecoming trips by electric car, there is no need to worry. PT PLN (Persero) has ensured the readiness of all Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).

President Director of PLN Icon Plus, Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi, directly revealed that SPKLU has spread widely in various rest areas, ready to help travelers with various types of charging.

"SPKLU is available in rest areas that are ready to help travelers when using electric vehicles," he told media in Jakarta.

Furthermore, Ari revealed that currently PLN through the subholding of PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (PLN Icon Plus) manages more than 600 SPKLUs. Among the total SPKLUs, electricity consumption absorbed by electric vehicles throughout 2023 has increased significantly.

"There are more than 600 SPKLUs that are ready for use at this time," he added.

In addition, PLN will also continue to monitor all SPKLUs for a full 24 hours. If a problem occurs, the team will immediately be assigned to investigate and fix it.

"For example, if there is a problem with connectivity, it will be corrected immediately," he concluded.
