TANGERANG - The Jami Kalipasir Mosque on Jalan Raya Merdeka, Sukasari, Tangerang City is known to the public as having a long history of broadcasting Islam. At the age of 448, the Jami Kalipasir Mosque still stands firmly and becomes a place of worship for Muslims in the Tangerang community.

Ahmad Sjairodji as an advisor to the Kalipasir DKM said that this mosque had been established since 1576. At that time this place was the residence of Ki Tengger Jati from the Galuh Kawali Kingdom, which is located in Sukabumi.

Ki Tengger Jati was also ordered by his teacher to spread Islam. Suddenly Ki Tengger Jati arrived in a river, then settled and built a small hut for a place of worship.

"He came here to spread Islam. Then he made a small hut, and it was used for worship," said Ahmad, Thursday, March 14.

The hut occupied by Ki Tengger Jati to worship close to the river, so that many people stopped at the place.

"It's been a long time, who had just stopped by, chose to stay. That was the beginning of the spread of Islam in Tangerang," he said.

As time went on, this mosque continues to be known to many people. Even the sultans from Islamic work came. Even one of the scholars from Persia had stopped at the Kalipasir Mosque. With the same goal, is to spread the teachings of Islam to the Banten area.

Gradually, the Jami Kalipasir Mosque was increasingly being considered by residents because it was a strategic place of worship. The mosque was also arranged by the management to hand over to Ki Tengger Jati's son, namely Tumenggung Pamit Wijaya.
