RI Disburses IDR 189.1 Trillion For Energy Subsidies, Here Are The Details

JAKARTA - The government is confirmed to spend up to IDR 189.1 trillion to provide energy subsidies to the community.

The Director General of Budget at the Indonesian Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata said that the Government as a whole allocates an energy subsidy budget for 2024 of IDR 189.1 trillion which includes subsidies for certain types of fuel oil (JBT), 3 kg and electricity cylinder LPG.

Isa detailed, of this amount, Rp. 25.8 trillion was allocated for JBT subsidies and Rp. 87.4 trillion was allocated for 3 kg LPG subsidies, while for electricity, the government budgeted Rp. 75.83 trillion.

"This is not a small number and we want to make sure that this falls to the right parties. This means that yes, those who have the right to get a subsidy should actually get the subsidized goods," said Isa in a statement to the media quoted on Friday, March 15.

To ensure that the subsidy is right on target, the government cooperates with Pertamina and PLN through the Energy Subsidy Contract.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN is committed to realizing subsidies from the government on target, namely for 450 Volt Ampere (VA) power household electricity customers and part of 900 VA power, as well as small business and industrial customers up to 5,500 VA power.

"We distribute subsidies by name and by address for recipients who really need them from the underprivileged and small business actors so that they are very right on target," explained Darmawan.

Meanwhile, Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said that as a BUMN, Pertamina will carry out its mandate to provide affordable energy access with the support of energy subsidies from the Government. Pertamina will ensure that the distribution of energy subsidies is received by the right community groups. For example, for solar subsidies that are targeted to benefit fisheries, agriculture, MSMEs, water transportation and public services.

"With the 2024 Energy Subsidy Contract, Pertamina further strengthens its commitment to maintaining national energy security and ensuring a fair distribution of energy for all Indonesian people," said Nicke.
