Proven Guilty, Oh Young Soo 'Squid Game' Sentenced To 8 Months In Prison

JAKARTA - Actor Oh Young Soo is serving a verdict related to a sexual harassment case reported by a woman. He went to the Suwon District Court, Seongnam, South Korea.

Today, Friday, March 15, the court found Oh Young Soo guilty and sentenced Oh Young Soo to eight months in prison with a two-year probationary period. Citing JoongAng Daily, the actor was also assigned to take part in a 40-hour education program to prevent sexual violence.

When asked if he planned to file an appeal, Oh Young Soo replied, "Yes"

In November 2022, Oh Young Soo was reported for harassment after touching the body of a woman on the streets of Daegu and kissing the victim's cheek in front of the victim's residence. The incident took place in 2017.

Oh Young Soo is an actor who skyrocketed after playing Oh Il Nam in the Squid Game series. Thanks to the series, he got Best Supporting Actor in the TV category at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards in the United States.

The actor denied all reports and the lawyer stated that it was done because Oh Young Soo thought the woman was like her child. In the trial last January, Oh Young Soo also said that this case had a profound impact on his life.

"It's hard for me to stand in court at my age. I feel my life is destroyed because of this fact how I ended my life," said Oh Young Soo.

Oh Young Soo also withdrew from the production of the Big Family film after being involved in this case.
