Dian Sastro Takes Advantage Of Profession As An Actor At The Beginning Of Converts
JAKARTA - Artist Dian Sastrowardoyo openly revealed that he was a convert to Islam since he was 21 years old. This story began when his questions regarding the reason why humans had to live were answered by a cleric known as Rahmat.
From there, the player of the film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta finally decided to enter Islamic teachings because he wanted to learn more deeply with Rahmat.
"Suddenly opened, there was a verse of what Quran, I also forgot what his father was. But basically he (Rahmat) answered very philosophically and very logistics which I also did not expect to answer by Islamic religious leaders, there was a name Mr. Rahmat," said Dian Sastro, quoted by VOI from YouTube Denny Sumargo, Friday, March 15.
However, it turns out that it is not that easy for Dian Sastro to be able to explore and enter Islamic teachings, because he was challenged by Rahmat to perform the 5-time prayer which made him memorize al-Fatihah.
"'Yes, sir, I will continue to study with my father'. Then 'yes, it depends on you wanting to pray not 5 times?', 'yes, because I already know why I want to'. Learning the next day I memorize al-fatihah," continued Dian.
For Dian, who is 21 years old, it is not an easy matter to memorize Arabic. As a result, he used his profession as an actor to memorize the prayer with soul.

"Using an elementary school book, and if I memorize it in Arabic, it's hard, right? At the age of 21, you memorize Arabic, but the one who helps memorize, because I'm an actor, I have to memorize it meaning, so I have to put my soul into it, right?," said Dian.
"So I have to memorize it means, so every time I recite the Arabic, I can soul it because otherwise it will be very difficult for me to inspire my worship," he added.
Not without reason, this was done by Dian because he did not want the prayers or verses he gave later to be limited to the mouth, not from the heart.
"Yes, I'm an actor, I have to memorize scripts, I have to use feelings, right, so it's impossible, it's like that in the mouth. So it helps me to be able to explore," he concluded.
