In Addition To EVX, Suzuki Will Expand EV Market By Presenting Its First Electricity MPV

JAKARTA - It's no secret that Suzuki plans to provide a variety of environmentally friendly vehicle options starting from EVX as the first EV to be released. In addition, the manufacturer with the 'S' logo also plans to launch other electric vehicles in the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment.

Reporting from Autocar India on Thursday, March 14, this Japanese manufacturer will present one of the all-electric MPV models codenamed 'YMC'.

The car will reportedly use the same platform as the eVX, which is 27PL. Although the information about this model is still limited, it is estimated that YMC will offer a battery option of 40 kWh and 60 kWh, the same as that offered by eVX.

In addition, this electricity-based MPV will provide a number of electric motor options according to consumer needs. The model is estimated to have a maximum range of up to 550 km. Hopefully, the interior design and exterior of this car will have similarities with the eVX.

The model is expected to make its debut in the Indian market about one year after the eVX launches. When the YMC launches in production versions in September 2026, it will be the first electric-based MPV offered by manufacturers with space of up to three lines.

Thus, this car will be the sixth model with a three-line design launched by Suzuki, following Ertiga, XL6, Invicto, Grand Vitara seven seats, and Spacia in India.

Not only that, Suzuki also has plans to bring hybrid variants to some existing models, such as Baleno, Frenx, Swift, and many more in the future.
