Emma Stone's Tears Broke When She Received Oscar Thanks To Poor Things
JAKARTA - Emma Stone beat Lily Gladstone through Killers of the Flower Moon, Sandra H\"uller for Anatomy of a Fall and Carey Mulligan for Maestro in the category of Best Actress Oscar 2024 thanks to the film Poor Things.
This victory marked Emma's second best actress win, after winning an award in 2017 for La La Land. She has also been nominated twice previously for best supporting actresses, for Birdman in 2015 and The Favorite in 2019, but did not win both.
When she received the Oscars at the 2024 Academy Awards, Emma Stone couldn't help but cry. This second win made Emma cry on stage Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, at 16:00 local time.
The victory that made Emma Stone cry was the second time in her career. Emma thanked the director, crew and family for this achievement.
"I knew I had to finish it but I really just wanted to thank my family, my mother, my sister, Spencer, my father, my husband, Dave, I really love you," Emma said in her winning speech.
"And most importantly, my daughter, who will be 3 years old in three days and have turned our lives into very colorful. I love you bigger than all over the sky," he continued.
Emma Stone won for Best Actress thanks to the film Poor Things. In the film, Emma plays Bella Baxter and competes acting with Mark Ruffalo.

This dark comedian follows Bella Baxter, a young Victorian woman who was revived by an eccentric doctor, Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Revived without understanding the gender-based limitations of her time, Bella fled into the arms of a rotten lawyer, Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), before starting her own journey to find adventures and freedoms.
In the film, Emma also plays the producer of the film, and is therefore also nominated in the Best Film category in Oscars.
