Film 1 CM Awaken Nationalism Through Action Of 32 Children In North Sumatra

JAKARTA - Film 1 CM is here to give a message of nationalism to the people of Indonesia. Worked on by director Dedy Siregar, this film shows the action of 32 children from North Sumatra who compete in acting in traditional games.

Dedy Siregar said 1 CM was presented to Indonesian children who needed entertaining and educational spectacles. For him, it is important to instill good values from an early age.

"Through this 1 CM film, we are trying to educate, teach lessons in a way that can be enjoyed. In this there are nationalism messages, to the habit of using cellphones for children that must be limited," said Dedy Siregar at Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Saturday, March 8.

Meanwhile, 32 child actors who competed in acting in this film were chosen in a quite unique way. The team chose children who excel from schools spread across North Sumatra.

"They are novice actors and actresses that we selected from schools in North Sumatra. But their acting can be judged on their own. They are full of enthusiasm and serious in playing the characters in this film," said Dedy.

Diaz, one of the children's actors, said that filming was running with challenges, because they had to move from set to set. However, the team's help and enthusiasm for the cast made the shooting finished well.

"We shoot in different locations, some have cold weather, sometimes have rain constraints. This is an exciting experience for me. Luckily we are all excited, so all the obstacles that exist when working on films can be resolved," Diaz said.

Diaz admitted that he couldn't wait for the audience's response. He is proud to be involved in films that have nationalism messages while at the same time showing the potential of North Sumatran children.

"Anyway, just watch the film, it's definitely fun. Then, because we are North Sumatra's children, the dialect uses dialects like the people of North Sumatra generally when talking. Which according to ken? Suitable right," Diaz said with a laugh.

The director hopes that the presence of the 1 CM film in theaters can be a way for parents to enjoy their time with their children. Moreover, nationalism education through films is a fun way for children.

"We hope that this 1 CM film can be a spectacle with the family. Take a good message from this film and hopefully it can be useful for us," said Dedy.

The presence of the 1 CM film also received support from Drajat Wisnu as a director of Ideology, Character and National Insight at the Ministry of Home Affairs. He appealed to leaders in various regions to participate in appreciating what the 32 child actors presented.

"It will encourage by making a circular letter to the Regional Heads (Governor, Regents and Mayors) to appreciate and urge them to watch this film. Because this film is full of nationalism values and national insight, especially for the younger generation of Indonesia," concluded Drajat Wisnu Setyawan.
