PBSI Hopes 3 Medal Donating Numbers At The Paris 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA The Secretary General of PBSI, Fadil Imran, said that his party prioritized three numbers to bring home medals from the 2024 Paris Olympics.

So far, no one has confirmed tickets to the world's most popular multi-events. However, some numbers are in a safe position and just have to defend it.

"There are numbers that we prioritize to get medals, namely men's singles, women's doubles, and men's doubles," said Fadil at the Fairmont Hotel, Friday, March 8, 2024.

In the men's singles number, the great opportunity to appear in Paris will be owned by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie. The two badminton players are currently in the safe zone of qualifying rankings.

Shifting to the men's doubles, the opportunity is owned by Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. Then, the women's doubles opportunity lies with Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Finally, the Indonesian women's singles hopes that Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who is currently still safe in seventh place in the qualification to Paris.

Fadil said his party would continue to try to add athletes to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. One of them is from mixed doubles which so far do not have a chance.

"Hopefully those who are already in a safe position will have no burden, unless an injury becomes the main problem," he said.

Badminton is the only sport that has managed to bring home a gold medal in Indonesia's history of participating in the Olympics.

In total, there have been eight gold medals presented by badminton since 1992 at Barcelona. The 2012 London Olympics are the only edition where badminton failed to bring home a gold medal.
