Examined By The KPK Today In The SYL Money Laundering Case, Sahroni Asks For A Delay
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI Ahmad Sahroni asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to postpone his examination schedule today, Friday, March 8. He admitted that he had just received a summons as a witness to the alleged money laundering (TPPU) committed by former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo."I can't come today," Sahroni told reporters when confirmed, Friday, March 8.Sahroni said the letter requesting postponement had been submitted to the anti-corruption commission."I have sent a letter to the KPK for a postponement because the letter (from the KPK, ed) only came yesterday," said the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party.As previously reported, the anti-corruption commission plans to ask for information from Sahroni and Hotman Fajar Simanjuntak, who are civil servants (PNS) of the Ministry of Agriculture in the money laundering case that ensnared Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri has not detailed the material for the second examination."(The examination, red) took place at the KPK's Red and White Building," Ali said in a written statement to reporters.The KPK has named Syahrul Yasin Limpo as a suspect in alleged money laundering. This step was taken after investigators developed allegations of extortion and gratification which is currently being tried.In the case of extortion and gratification, Syahrul was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion in the 2020-2023 period. This action was carried out together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.
This money was then used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. Then, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 M from January 2020 to October 2023.
