Twitch Plans To Overhaul Cellular Version Apps

JAKARTA Twitch, a live streaming platform, plans to redesign its mobile app by the end of the year. This news was conveyed by Twitch CEO Dan Clay in an open letter shared on March 6.

Clay said that this design reshuffle will facilitate the distribution ofupdateaplications. In addition, the updated design will make it easier for streamers to upload short videos from mobile applications.

"We redesigned the mobile app (first update since 2019) to provide you with a more modern and in-depth viewing experience by making Discovery Feed available to all Twitch users," Clay said.

In addition, mobile version of Twitch will also get a new feature that provides faster updates for users. Both streamers and viewers can dopinch-to-zoomode photos and video portrait sharing skills to Stories.

Clay revealed that the Stream Together feature will be refined this year. This feature will be made easier, more fun, and more useful for users. This refinement has been released in beta or preview.

"We will also add ways to combine chats and combine views so you can create unique and fun community crossing moments along with other streamers," explains Clay.

Another important announcement that Clay made was how to buy rebuilt subscriptions, gifts and Bits. Twitch also plans to launch a more flexible modified (mod) tool on devices with the iOS system.

"Our mod tool must be flexible, easy to use, and can be moved with you. By the end of this year, we plan to launch Mobile Mod View on iOS, to make it easier for you to do mods from wherever you are," Clay said.
