Parental Control System, Solution To Overcome Sideload Dangers On IOS 17.4

JAKARTA The latest operating system for the iPhone, iOS 17.4, has been launched on certain devices. With the launch of the update, iPhone users in the European Union (EU) can already sideload.

Sideload is an act of downloading apps outside of official digital stores. Usually, sideloads lead to app downloads on websites. This action has the potential to bring danger as downloaded apps may be malware.

Sideload support has been banned since the iPhone was launched for the first time. However, due to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) digital that Apple must comply with, the company was forced to allow a sideload system in the EU.

With this control system, parents can manage applications that their children have the right to download and not. Parents can also use Screen Duration restrictions to disable installations from third-party applications.

Quoting from 9to5mac, users only need to open Settings and open the Screen Duration menu. After that, set Screen Duration or select the child's device settings in the Sharing Family. When screen time is visible, open Content and Privacy Purchase, then click App Installation and Purchase.

Change App Market Settings to Don't Allow It. Parents can also set age ratings to block certain applications. If it has been changed, application installation outside of the App Store will be blocked.
