MacBook Air M3 Vs M2, Which Is Better?

JAKARTA After being exhibited in October last year, Apple has now added achipM3 to the MacBook Air. This personal Computer (PC) is claimed to be better than the previous generation.

This claim makes sense because the chipM3 is indeed faster than the previous two generations. With 3nm fabrication, the chip is equipped with an 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and integrated memory up to 24GB. ChipM3 also offers a variety of new capabilities.

However, when compared overall, M2 also has an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. Integrated memory, camera resolution, speaker, and thermal management are still the same. However, the efficiency of the coreM3 can be 30 percent faster than the M2.

In terms of performance, M3 is only 15 percent faster than M2. The rendering process can also be 1.8 times faster than the previous generation. Despite the better-working components, Apple calls MacBook Air M3 a laptop for AI.

Specifications for the MacBook Air M3 and MacBook Air M2 also have no difference. The screen size is still the same, namely 13.6 inches and 15.3 inches. Both devices still use 2560 x 1664 resolutions for 13 inches and 2880 x 1864 for 15 inches.

Both also have a ratio of 16:10, PPI 224,brightnessnits500, and use a retinal screen. The difference found on these two devices is the use of WiFi 6 for the M2 generation and WiFi 6E for the M3 generation.

MacBook Air M3 can now be supported by two external screens with 6K resolution for the first and 5K screens for the second screen. Meanwhile, MacBook Air M2 supports only one external screen with 6K resolution.

In terms of durability, both devices also have up to 18 hours of battery life for video playback from Apple TV or 15 hours for wireless webs. Both use 52.6 watt lithium-polymer batteries for 13 inches and 66.5 watts for 15 inches.

Overall, the MacBook Air M3 doesn't have much change. You only get improvements in the performance of the chip, WiFi, and external screens. You can determine a better model by adjusting your daily needs.
