Apple Prepares To Release IPhone SE 4 With 6.1 Inci Screen And USB-C Charging Port
JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly preparing to release the iPhone 16 later this year. However, leaked images suggest that the tech giant may also be preparing another new smartphone - the iPhone SE 4.
Most recently in the SE iPhone 'budget' series, the phone is expected to have a 6.1-inch display, a USB-C charging port, and a single main camera on the back, as seen in the image leaked to the media.
Insider estimated a price of around $500 (IDR 7.8 million) when it was released next year, which, although quite expensive, still made it one of the cheapest smartphones on the market.
Although the iPhone SE is often referred to as Apple's 'budget' phone, the latest model, the iPhone SE 3, has a price of up to 579 pounds (Rp9 million).
The latest draft of the iPhone SE 4, obtained by 91mobiles, is the CAD (computer-assisted design) file given to third-party casing manufacturers prior to device launch.
According to the site, the iPhone SE 4 will have a 6.1-inch display - much larger than the 4.7-inch screen on the iPhone SE 3 which was released in 2022.
If the iPhone SE 3 has a home button - a physical button below the screen then this button will miss the iPhone SE 4.
In addition, the front of the new phone will have a notch, similar to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. Notch is the black area at the top of the screen containing the front camera and Face ID module, which allows users to open their devices at a glance.
Leaks also suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will have a single main camera on the back and a USB-C charging port, just like the iPhone 15. Starting last year, Apple will have to replace its own Lightning charging port (recognizable from eight pins) and replace it with USB-C, due to EU regulations.

According to MacRumors, the iPhone SE 4 will also be equipped with 'Action Tombol', although it is difficult to confirm this from a new leaked image. The Action button - a small button above the volume button on the edge of the phone - can be used to enable or disable selected settings.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released in spring 2025, but 91mobiles says Apple will provide a brief preview of it at a disclosure event for the iPhone 16 in September.
Apple doesn't release the SE model every year - there's only three since it was first released in 2016. Even so, they generate a lot of furore, especially among Apple fans who can't afford Apple's expensive 'flagship' devices, where the iPhone 15 is the latest.
The next flagship model, the iPhone 16, which will be released in September, is expected to be more expensive than the iPhone 15, according to several reports.
According to the image of the latest leak of the iPhone 16, the tech giant will make radical changes to the camera lens at the back of the flagship phones to come.
