Jokowi Affirms No Problem With Rice Stock Ahead Of Eid
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensures that domestic rice stocks have no problems ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
Various preparations have been made to prevent skyrocketing prices and scarcity of various staple goods.
"Ini mau lebaran, sudah, persiapan-persiapan mengenai ketersediaan terutama bahan pokok itu menjadi sangat penting," kata Jokowi dalam konferensi pers di Halim Perdanakusuma, Senin, 4 Maret.
"I don't think there is a problem with the rice stock," he continued.
Jokowi said he would monitor the availability of rice and other staples. He will also check the prices of basic commodities, which are said to have gone up recently.
"But in several markets, seen once again, seen, about rice at Cipinang Market and Johar Market, Karawang is starting to fall," he said.

President Jokowi believes that the price decline in these two markets will be followed in other areas. Because soon Indonesia will enter the harvest season.
"Immediately the harvest season in the next month will occur so I think the price will fall a lot. I also received information that the rice in the field had dropped, but don't be drastic because farmers also need to be given space for profit," concluded the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
