5 PPK Members Allegedly 'Playing' The Vote Of Candidates For The 2024 Election, Disabled By KPU Karawang
The General Election Commission of Karawang Regency, West Java, has dismissed five members of the District Election Committee for allegedly playing a "game" for the votes of legislative candidates (caleg) in the 2024 election.
"Until now there have been five chairmen and members of the PPK (District Election Committee) who have been disabled because they are indicated to have violated ethics as election organizers," said Karawang General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Ikmal Maulana, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, February 3.
Initially, the KPU deactivated two members of the Pakisjaya PPK, then a non-active sanction was imposed on one member of the Weakabang PPK, and most recently the Karawang KPU disabled two Cikampek PPK people.
"Two disabled Cikampek PPK people are the chairman and one member," he said.
He said the five members and chairman of the disabled PPK were suspected of playing the "game" for the votes acquired by the candidate for the Karawang DPRD.
They are suspected of shifting the votes of certain legislative candidates and transferring the votes to other legislative candidates.
He explained that the decision to deactivate the five members and chairman of the PPK was made after the Karawang KPU found evidence and recognition of the shift in votes from one legislative candidate to another.
KPU Karawang decided to deactivate five PPK people because they were proven to have violated the code of ethics as election organizers.

"All those who are indicated to be playing, we deactivated. And we will continue with the ethics examination trial," he said.
A member and chairman of the Cikampek PPK were disabled because they were suspected of shifting the vote acquisition between the two legislative candidates in PKB which resulted in one of the legislative candidates being harmed.
A member of PPK Wekabang was disabled for shifting votes between the two candidates in the Golkar Party who harmed other candidates from the same party.
As many as two members of PPK Pakisjaya were disabled after claiming to have shifted votes between the two Democratic candidates, which resulted in losses for other legislative candidates due to losing their votes.
