Jetski Racer Fikri Rajab Wins In Endurance Heat Session 1 Category At Menpora Cup AIC

TOBA - A talented jetski racer, Fikri Rajab, won a brilliant victory in the Endurance Heat session 1 category at the Menpora Cup Aquabike Indonesia Championship (AIC). This match was held at the Port of Mulia Raja Napitupulu, Balige, Toba Regency, North Sumatra, on Saturday 2 March.

With only 28 years old, Fikri Rajab was able to collect 400 points in the first session of this endurance race which lasted 45 minutes. He managed to perform extraordinary performance by passing 17 other riders on the track and collecting the highest number of laps.

In second place, young racer Muhammad Gibran Kartiko, 18 years old, managed to catch up by winning 380 points. Meanwhile, the third position was occupied by pejetski Maakio Wim happened with 368 points.

The committee has scheduled the holding of Endurance Heat sessions 2 and 3 on Sunday 3 March.

The Director of Air Racing at the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI), Randi Wibawa, revealed that this championship was the first step to encourage the participation of Indonesian athletes in the 2024 Jetski World Championships in the Lake Toba series.

"Our plan is to draw four series. The first is in Balige, Lake Toba, the second is in Samosir Lake Toba, the third is in North Sulawesi, and the fourth is in South Sulawesi," said Randi.

Furthermore, Randi explained that the three best racers who managed to collect the highest points, namely positions one, two, and three, will have the opportunity to compete in the World Championship which will also be held at Lake Toba in November 2024.

Menpora Cup AIC is the first event to be held in Lake Toba and was attended by 18 racers. This championship is a side event for organizing the 2024 Lake Toba F1 Powerboat and held in the same place.

This activity is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) with the aim of increasing the achievements of jetski sports in Indonesia.
