Rommy Ensures PPP Will Push For Angkat Rights After The DPR Recess Period

JAKARTA - Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Advisory Council, Romahurmuziy or Rommy, stated that his party supports the proposed use of hakangket in the DPR to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 presidential election.

Rommy said his party would encourage the use of the council's rights after the DPR has finished undergoing a recess.

"PPP remains in a solid position to encourage the use of the DPR's rights when it enters the trial period on March 5, 2024," Rommy said in his statement, Thursday, February 29.

Rommy explained that the PPP decision was based on the results of a meeting of the general chairman of the political party (political party) carrying Ganjar Pranowo - Mahfud MD on Saturday, February 24.

According to him, the DPR's rights are very much needed to open the light of the alleged fraud in the 2024 General Election, especially the presidential election (pilpres).

"So there is no need to be allergic or worry about this rolling," said Rommy.

It is known, it is full of people to apply for the right to inquiry the DPR is regulated in Article 199 of Law (UU) No. 17 of 2014. The law explains that the right of inquiry can be used if it is supported by 50 percent of DPR members more than one faction.

Previously, PPP was unable to express its position regarding this right to inquiry. The reason is, the Kaaba Party is still not safe from the parliamentary threshold of 4 percent in the 2024 Legislative Election.

"We haven't determined the steps, we are still thinking about vote counting, we are still holding vote count in the field," said Secretary of the PPP faction in the DPR, Achmad Baidowi, Monday, February 26.
