Floods In Rawa Terate Cakung, Evacuation Process Constrained
JAKARTA - Jalan Krama Yudha RT 10 RW 05, Rawa Terate Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta was flooded as high as 120 centimeters (cm) on Thursday, February 29.
Head of the East Jakarta BPBD Task Force, Sukendar, said that flooding with an adult height was caused by the intensity of heavy rain around the location since the morning.
"The cause of the flooding that has existed since 08.20 WIB is due to local rain with a height of 120 centimeters," said Sukendar when confirmed, Thursday, February 29.
Sukendar said several personnel had been deployed to evacuate the affected residents at the location.
His party also carried out an evacuation by collaborating with other volunteers using rubber boats to higher contour places.

"There were nine BPBD personnel deployed, four united tractors, six Satpol PP personnel, and four PMI personnel," he said.
Sukendar revealed that his party had experienced obstacles in evacuating residents. Given the transportation of rubber boat carriers, his party was stuck in traffic on the way.
"The position of the rubber boat was hampered due to a traffic jam, but it was also helped by PMI in the middle of preparing to bring logistics and rubber boats to the location," he said.
