Badanas Claims Rice Stock At Cipinang Main Market Is Enough For Residents' Needs
Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetya ensured that the condition of rice stocks at the Cipinang Rice Main Market, East Jakarta, was still safe and sufficient for the needs of the community.
"We convey that the rice stock is sufficient. The combination is in the Cipinang rice main market today," he said during a review at the rice warehouse Block G of the Cipinang Rice Main Market, East Jakarta, Wednesday, February 28.
Previously, Bulog supplied rice to the Cipinang Rice Main Market to meet rice availability during the harvest season.
"The stock from Bulog yesterday was to block it, because it takes time (fulfilling the availability of rice) ahead of the harvest. In March, God willing, the harvest will be 3.5 million tons," he said.
Arief said that this week there will also be supplies with local harvests. So that the availability of rice for the community is expected to be very sufficient.
"Then in these weeks, local harvests have started. There are two government duties, the first to guard downstream, (rice supply) for our community more than 270 million. Then keep prices at the producer level," he said.
In addition, Arief said, in the past few days the price of unhulled rice will also fall along with a rather large harvest. However, the government through Bulog will maintain prices at the farmer level.
