It's Only The Beginning Of The Year, Social Assistance Shopping Has Reached IDR 12.45 Trillion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance reported that the realization of central government spending until January 31, 2024, for social assistance expenditures (bansos) reached Rp12.45 trillion, an increase of 220.85 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy).
In the KiTa State Budget report published today, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the distribution of social assistance spending at the beginning of this year has reached 8.17 percent of the total ceiling in the 2024 State Budget, which is IDR 152.30 trillion.
The realization of social assistance spending is intended for the distribution of the first phase of the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance and distribution of basic food card assistance in January 2024.
The realization of social assistance expenditures was, among others, used to distribute PKH assistance for 9.2 million Beneficiary Families (KPM), as well as the distribution of basic food card program assistance for 18.5 million KPM.
Furthermore, social assistance spending is also used to provide contribution assistance distribution for 96.7 million participants who receive Contribution Assistance (PBI) for the National Health Insurance Program (JKN).
Social assistance spending is also for the distribution of the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP) assistance for 4,000 students and the assistance of the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) for 4,000 students.

For information, the realization of state spending until the end of January 2024 reached IDR 184.17 trillion or 5.54 percent of the ceiling.
The realization of state spending includes the realization of central government spending of Rp. 96.39 trillion and transfers to regions of Rp. 87.78 trillion.
Meanwhile, the realization of central government spending for this period was higher, mainly influenced by the realization of social assistance of Rp. 10.44 trillion and goods expenditures of Rp. 12.98 trillion.
In addition, the increase in the realization of Social assistance spending is mainly to help the community in dealing with food price instabilities due to global economic turmoil.
