Honda Claims Its Best-selling Aircraft For Four Consecutive Years

JAKARTA - The Honda Aircraft Company announced that by 2020 the HondaJet would be the aircraft with the most shipments in its class for four consecutive years. This fact was released by Honda based on data provided by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) which said that over the past year the company sent 31 aircraft to its consumers globally.

Honda Aircraft Company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino said that while the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a decline in overall business jet deliveries, it has seen a shift to a safer and more sustainable mode of transportation.

“The fast delivery of the HondaJet to pre-COVID levels at the end of the year shows that consumers around the world continue to choose us. HondaJet will continue to contribute to the recovery of the global business aviation market,” he said in an official statement this week.

Honda Aircraft Company also announced that it has started an aircraft charter service which makes the aircraft even more accessible to explorers in Japan.

In 2020, Honda Aircraft Company is expanding its global footprint with type certification in Pakistan and Russia. The sales footprint extends to existing networks, namely North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, and India.

For information, the HondaJet fleet that has been operated to date numbered 170 aircraft worldwide with more than 68,000 flight hours.

Honda itself claims that its aircraft is the fastest, farthest, and highest-flying aircraft in its class.

“The HondaJet Elite combines many of Honda Aircraft's technological innovations, including the unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration, Natural Laminar Flow (NLF) nose and wing, and composite airframe. This aircraft is also supported by the GE Honda Aero Engines HF120," he said.

"The HondaJet Elite is more fuel-efficient and emits fewer greenhouse gases than all similar-sized twin-engine business jets," Michimasa Fujino concluded.
