KPU Will Hold Re-voting In Kuala Lumpur Without Postal Method

The General Elections Commission (KPU) will hold a re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by eliminating the vote by postal method.

"The KPU has also started PSU activities in Kuala Lumpur by updating the voter list," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari, Friday, February 23.

He explained that this data update was based on a fixed voter list (dpt) set on June 21 to 23, 2023 in Kuala Lumpur. The data to be updated are unknown addresses.

"Based on the unknown or unclear addresses, we remove them from the voter list, thus becoming the basis for updating the voter list," he said, quoted by ANTARA.

Therefore, the PSU in Kuala Lumpur will not be carried out by adding new voters. The updated data will be synchronized with a list of voters present for the Twas method abroad.

Hasyim said the KPU was preparing a schedule for updating and re-recruitting the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) to identify the remaining ballots that were still in use.

In addition, the KPU is also coordinating with the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of the Republic of Indonesia regarding recommendations for the PSU process.

"We also discuss it with Bawaslu so that what we do is in accordance with Bawaslu's recommendations and statutory provisions," explained Hasyim.

To note, there are three methods of voting abroad, namely: voting at Tapis, mobile ballot boxes (ksk) and posts.
