Police Make Sure The Case Of Stabbing A Prospective Candidate In Banjarmasin Is Motivated By Revenge, Not Political
BANJARMASIN - Banjarmasin Police Chief Kombes Sabana Atmojo said the case of mistreatment of a legislative candidate from a party in the city of Banjarmasin was not covered in political issues, but revenge.
"The perpetrator who turned himself in to us on Thursday night said the abuse was carried out because of the old revenge factor," said the Banjarmasin Police Chief as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.
Sabana said the perpetrator from the results of the examination was found to have the initials AZ (44), a resident of Jalan Tunas Baru, Banjarmasin Tengah, surrendered because he was persuaded by his parents when he was in Binuang, Tapin Regency.
After being persuaded by his parents, then AZ was escorted to the police while carrying evidence of a sharp weapon (sajam) jeis tendeng.
The perpetrator carried out the persecution on Sunday (18/2) night, at around 21.00 WITA, by stabbing the victim named Muhammad Syafei (54), a resident of Jalan Tunas Baru.
"The victim suffered serious injuries as many as three eyes, including lacerations to the left neck, left abdomen and right hand," said Sabana.
The perpetrator has a grudge because on charges of the victim making illegal parking fees.

In addition, the perpetrator also did not accept the wages given by the victim when asked to transport school goods for a fee of Rp. 50,000.
"AZ was desperate to stab the victim because it was under the influence of alcoholic beverages with the aim that the victim felt deterrent," said Kombes Pol Sabana Atmojo, accompanied by the Head of the Central Banjarmasin Police, Kompol Eka Saprianto, and the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, Kompol Thomas Afrian.
AZ, who had been a fugitive for four days, has undergone an examination to undergo further legal proceedings and was charged with Article 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.
"I emphasize once again that the perpetrator's actions have nothing to do with political issues or the vote acquisition obtained by the victim in the election which was only held a few days ago, but purely because of a grudge against the victim while still serving as chairman of the RT," said the Chief of Police.
