PDIP Wins At Real Count While KPU, PDIP Politician: We Are Thankful To The People

JAKARTA - Senior PDI-P politician Hendrawan Supratikno thanked the Indonesian people, who continued to believe and support PDIP, which based on the General Election Commission's real count (KPU) was recorded to have won the highest votes for the Legislative Election (Pileg) with 11,594,669 votes or 16.89 percent.

Hendrawan also said that the PDI-P was still waiting for the vote count process to be completed and officially announced by the KPU.

"From the jurdil calculation process, if we finally get the highest votes, first of all we thank the people for the trust given to us," said Hendrawan as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 22.

However, Hendrawan revealed that the vote achievement was lower than the specified target. In the 2019 election, the party bearing the symbol of a white-nosed bull managed to reap 19.33 percent of the votes.

"This achievement is lower than the target we set. Political dynamics is very volatile. Sometimes party infrastructure takes time to make adjustments," he said.

Hendrawan said the results of the 2024 General Election would be used as material for objective evaluation within the party so that in the future PDIP could be even better.

"In time, we will evaluate objectively on what happens, and then become input for future strategic options," said Hendrawan.

According to him, the PDI-P has the potential to score a victory hat trick in the legislative elections if the official calculation of the KPU is announced later

In the 2014 election, PDI Perjuangan won 18.95 percent of the vote. The 2019 election for PDI-P votes rose to 19.33 percent and became the winner again.
