Minister Hadi Visits Mahfud's House To Discuss Resolution Of PR At The Coordinating Ministry For Political, Legal And Security Affairs

Hadi Tjahjanto officially became Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs replacing Mahfud MD. Hadi continued to meet Mahfud to discuss the homework (PR) at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs which needed to be completed immediately.

The meeting took place at Mahfud's residence in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta (Jaksel). This visit on the first day Hadi effectively worked as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Thursday, February 22.

He previously visited the PBNU office in Jakarta, on Thursday morning, to meet the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, who is also familiarly called Gus Yahya.

"Earlier, I discussed the pending matter (homework) that has not been carried out or which is currently underway at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. He gave many pictures and directions, which of course I must now follow up on ongoing problems or problems that have not been resolved," Hadi said during a press conference after the meeting in the courtyard of Mahfud Md's residence, Jakarta, Thursday, February 22, was confiscated by Antara.

Hadi arrived at Mahfud's residence at 11.08 WIB. He greeted reporters and ran small to the gate of Mahfud's house. Hadi, who came with several officials from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, was greeted by Mahfud who approached Hadi in front of the gate of the house. Hadi and Mahfud's meeting inside the house lasted closed for approximately 50 minutes.

"I thank you very much, it turns out Prof. It's amazing, what is in the Coordinating Ministry that I was given the details, and hopefully with this good information from Prof. Mahfud, I can carry out my duties well," said Hadi Tjahjanto.

Mahfud, in the same press conference session, admitted that he did not provide suggestions to Hadi, only sharing information about substantive issues.

"I already know Pak Hadi is very capable of doing this so I don't give tips, but give the substance of the problem. He can be more agile than me later when the substance is finished," said Mahfud.

Hadi, who heard it, also thanked Mahfud for his praise.

Both of them when asked about the substance of the matter discussed did not mention it in detail. However, both of them briefly mentioned the substantive issues, including the work of the BLBI Task Force, the non-judicial resolution of past gross human rights violations, and related to the Constitutional Court Law (UU MK).

"BLBI was already detailed, BLBI was already detailed. The Constitutional Court Law, yes, details were conveyed to me earlier. (Heavi human rights violations), yes, everything was handed over to me. All three, the main (problems) are all there," said Hadi.

After meeting Mahfud, Hadi and his entourage continued their journey to the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Jakarta, for internal meetings with the leadership in the ministry. He is scheduled to fly to Yogyakarta for a working visit, Friday (23/2).

Hadi officially served as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Wednesday (21/2), after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the State Palace, then after a few hours he also received the position from Tito Karnavian, who was previously assigned by the President as acting (plt.) Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. Hadi filled the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as a definitive official after Mahfud Md. resigned in early February 2024.

Hadi has at least eight months to complete work at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs until the president-vice president for the 2024 period, 2029, is sworn in on October 20, 2024.
