Leaning Hit By Floods, Inter-village Suspension Bridge In West Manggarai Was Heavily Damaged
NTT - The suspension bridge between Siru Village, Wae Wako Village and Poco Dedeng Village in Lembor District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was damaged by the flood. "The zinc portion of the top plate was carried away by the flood, then the south part of the bridge was tilted, so the bridge could not be used," said Lembor Raimundus Majar sub-district head who was contacted in Labuan Bajo, NTT, Thursday, February 22, was confiscated by Antara. He explained that the flood had occurred after heavy rains since Wednesday, February 21, 2024 night. Conditions were exacerbated because the flood also carried wood material that was stuck on the bridge. "The steepness of the river water flow hit the bridge so that it was tilted. Indeed, the rain was evenly distributed, only in the mountains had no impact like here, because the flow of mountain water was passing by large times as the final estuary," he said. Even though the suspension bridge could not be passed, villagers could still use other access roads to carry out activities. "It is alternative for residents through Dahot this season," he said.
