Dealer Partner Optimistic Of VinFast's Future At The Electric Car Market In Indonesia Can Be Competitive

JAKARTA - On February 16, VinFast Auto officially signed an agreement with five dealers at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024. This step was taken to expand quickly in the country.

In fact, the network of dealers conducting cooperation is impressed by the company's supply and strategic approach. They are optimistic that Vietnamese brands can be competitive in Indonesia.

Hartono Kurniawan, Director of PR Bevos Auto Mandiri dealers, sees VinFast's strength as in battery quality, full-sale service, and available spare parts that are well received by local customers. However, prices remain an important factor for buyers in Indonesia.

"The new electric car model wave with attractive prices has recently competed to enter the Indonesian market. Therefore, competitive prices are the key so that VinFast can stand out," Hartono said in his statement, Tuesday, February 20.

According to Hartono, VinFast's initial collaboration with dealers is unlike the EV brand in general, this strategy is an advantage as well as the key to VinFast's successful presence as a strong competitor in the electric automotive industry.

"This partnership is very important for VinFast's success in the EV race in Indonesia," he said.

In line with Hartono's optimism, Sandra Pohar, the dealer CEO of PT Gran Cipta Cerlang, believes that VinFast's excellent sales service is a huge asset.

"Buyers of electric vehicles in Indonesia are concerned about VinFast's potential problems and services instilling confidence in their car ownership," said Sandra Pohar, highlighting the importance of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

Pohar, Hartono, and representatives from Gallarie Setia Utama praised VinFast's long-term commitment to Indonesia, as seen from their factory investment worth 200 million US dollars. This commitment also includes partnerships with local companies to build a national charging network, thereby facilitating comfortable charging for customers.

Other companies that have just entered the Indonesian market are usually not investing much. The Indonesian market has seen that VinFast is very serious about doing business here in the long term," he concluded.
